SAIL (Stay Active & Independent for Life) is a 12-week falls prevention fitness program designed for older adults that focuses on strength, balance, and mobility - which reduces the risk of falls and improves overall quality of life.

SAIL Fitness Class Benefits:

  • Reduce risks of falling
  • Improve balance, mobility and leg strength - all known risk factors for falls
  • Maintain independence by building strength, improving balance and agility

SAIL Fitness Classes Include:

  • Exercises that can be done sitting or standing
    • Suite for all fitness levels
  • Fitness checks are done in the first class and at 12 weeks to track your progress. Fitness checks include:
    • 8-Foot Timed Up and Go
    • Bicep Curls
    • Chair Sit-to-Stand

Who Can Attend SAIL Fitness Classes:

  • Any older adult
  • Anyone who has fallen in the past year or is fearful of falling
  • Anyone looking to add exercise to their routine

Class Location: Glasgow Senior Center

Date & Time

  • Every Monday and and Thursday from 10:30am - 11:30am for 12 weeks beginning Monday, June 1
