Bequests

An alternative or an addition to charitable giving during your lifetime is for you to leave the FMDH Foundation a gift after you pass away. A bequest is simple and convenient. You decide if you would like your gift to be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. And you may choose to designate your gift for the use of the highest priority need or restrict your gift for a specific purpose.

Advantages of giving through a bequest include:

  • Establishing a legacy that will continue long after your passing
  • Your gift is free from the restrictions that apply to transfers during your lifetime
  • Your gift is fully tax deductible and your estate taxes may be significantly reduced

Including the FMDH Foundation in Your Will or Revocable Trust

Below are several examples of suggested wording that you may use to include the Foundation in your will or revocable trust. Please remember that each individual situation is unique and, therefore, these examples include only some of the possible gift opportunities. We encourage you to share your final will provision with the FMDH Foundation to ensure that your wishes are properly followed and recognized.

Gifting A Percentage Of Your Estate For The Highest Priority Needs Of The FMDH Foundation:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to the FMDH Foundation, located in Glasgow, Montana the ___ percentage of the residue of my estate (or other personal or real property appropriately described) to be used as its Board of Directors shall deem advisable to best promote the institution’s objectives and mission.”

Gifting A Percentage Of Your Estate For A Specific Purpose At The FMDH Foundation:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to the FMDH Foundation, located in Glasgow, Montana the ____ percentage of the residue of my estate (or other personal or real property appropriately described) to be used for ____. If the CEO of FMDH determines that it is not feasible or economical to use the gift for the purpose stated above, the gift may be used for such exempt purposes of FMDH as the CEO and/or Foundation Board of Directors directs.”

Gifting A Specific Amount For The Highest Priority Needs At The FMDH Foundation:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to the FMDH Foundation, located in Glasgow, Montana the sum of $ ____ in cash or in-kind (or _____ shares of _____ stock) to be used at the discretion of the FMDH Foundation Board of Directors for the general purposes of the FMDH Foundation Mission. “

Gifting A Specific Amount For A Specific Purpose At The FMDH Foundation:

“I give, devise, and bequeath to the FMDH Foundation, located in Glasgow, Montana the sum of $ ____ (or _____ shares of _____ stock) to be used for ______________________________ at FMDH. If circumstances should at some time in the future make it impractical to continue using the income from the Fund for the purpose designated, then the FMDH Foundation Board of Directors may re-designate the purpose to adhere as closely as possible to my original intent.”
